Outright Picks - Nationwide Tour

Tipster: Stanley

Odds: Outright

BellSouth Panama Championship

FINAL RESULT: 0-3; -3.00pts

Gomez mc
Tidland 7th
Armour 44th

Close, but not close enough. Tidland was the only player to shoot under 70 in every round, but was always just off the pace. He finished 4 shots behind the winner, Vance Veazey.

Outright plays (1pt):

Rafael Gomez to win 40/1 e.w. @ GolfingGods
Seems sensible to side with one player from the region and few better than Argentinean Gomez in this field. He held on to his Nationwide Tour Card last year and will be looking to improve on his 12th place finish here last year. It was his fourth top-15 finish in Panama in the last three years and with three wins in this region as well, this represents a very good chance for him to safeguard his playing privileges for next year with a win in Panama. SkyBet are half these odds, though with an extra place term.

Chris Tidland to win 50/1 e.w. @ GolfingGods
Also considerable variation in prices with this player who is just 28/1 with SkyBet. He has already shaken some of the cobwebs off his game by playing in the Sony Open in Hawaii and will be looking for a big week as he only missed out on a PGA Tour Card by $2,400 last season when he finished 21st on the Nationwide Tour Money List and only the top-20 graduated to the main Tour. Missed the cut last year, but there should certainly be a lot of resolve this time around after such a bitter blow.

Ryan Armour to win 66/1 e.w. @ SkyBet
Ended the 2004 with two top-5 finishes in his last five Nationwide Tour events, but just as importantly he opened the season with a top-5 finish in this event. He does miss a lot of cuts, but he has also shown that he can finish high up the leaderboard if playing at the weekend and he can draw upon valuable course experience.
