5-0; +1.11pts Pre-tournament plays: LAY 20pts liability Jonas Blixt 130 72nd Smylie Kaufman 36 mc Harold Varner 190 8th Andrew Loupe 270 mc Luke List 100 mc The short-game is usually particuarly important at TPC Louisiana and that is Blixt's strength, but when he ranks 185th in greens in regulation and 169th in strokes gained tee to green, it is clear why he can get into contention in tournaments, but hasn't looking like winning for a long time Kaufman is more likely to win, but this is his first event since his final collapse at The Masters and the publicity around his time in the Bahamas, so I think that this price is too low even with his LSU history and there is value in opposing him this week Varner managed a top-10 finish in the Texs Open last week, but with his previous five finishes being mc-mc-mc-mc-68th, there appears to be little to indicate that he is likely to repeat the feat on his course debut at TPC Louisiana Missed cuts in three of his last four starts and with finishes on this course of mc-52nd-mc (no round under 70), Loupe is not a player who should be contending this week List has made his last four cuts, but they have all been mid-leaderboard positions - he didn't finish any round inside the top-10 - and he has never finished inside the top-3 on the PGA Tour; with such poor putting stats, he is unlikely to do so this week. |
