Stake 3.27 pts Ernie Els -109 over Grame McDowell (Pinnacle) ***

- Lots of signs pointin towards Ernie this week, the first of which is an astounding record at this event. (a win and three top 3's)  Local knowledge is important and Ernie is making his 7th start here as opposed to Graeme McDowells debut here. Ernie looked in stellar form when winning the South African Open less than three weeks ago. McDowell's last competitive round was over a month ago when he won Tiger's event, a course he had played well on in the past. The next week he played the shark shootout and proclaimed he was shutting it down for awhile, he would play this week then break again before Dubai. So I doubt he is "ready" this week and is more here for the vacation/paycheck as he had a busy season last year. Add in new irons and golf ball as McDowell joined Srixons/

Stake 2.30 pts Steve Stricker -115 over Ian Poulter (Carib) **

- Poulter and Stricker have been on the same schedule this offseason, playing Tiger's event then the shark shootout. The difference is that this is the start of Strickers season whereas Poulter will break until Dubai, like McDowell. From the interviews I have read, poulter hasn't been playing too much while vacationing in the Bahamas. Stricker has the only course form and it includes a runner up finish in 2008. If he can just avoid the rusty opening round (73 last two starts) he has proved he can rebound.
