Will Besseling to beat Sam Walker - 3.3 points @ 10-11 (Ladbrokes)

I'm not sure whether this can be classed as a main Tour event or one on the Challenge Tour calendar but the field is a mix of those 'names' wanting a decent chance to return to form (the likes of Dyson), and a host of Challenge regulars wanting to take one of the main two chances to hop straight on to the European Tour. Either way, both this event and Madeira both need accuracy off the tee, careful placing of appraoch shots and patience.

Only a few match-ups available this week and we were close to a no-bet. However, inspired by compatriot and amateur team-mate Joost Luiten, Wil Besseling can certainly make enough waves here to see off Sam Walker.

Besseling moved to a new home course and job in April, with better facilities to train and practise. Given that, it is no surprise to see steady improvement in his game, with a play-off defeat in Belgium followed by a top-20 last week in the Czech Open. His results seem to have ignited real enthusiasm in his game, and having alreday experienced life on the main Tour (ranked 15th on the CT in 2009), is clearly keen to have another chance. His own website details exactly the positive attitude that makes winners and he returns to a course where he finished 4th in 2012, keeping his place on the board throughout difficult conditions over the weekend. Boosted by Luiten's win in Austria, Besseling can do enough in this your-pick match.

Brummie Walker doesn't have the same potential for improvement as his market rival, having been in-and-out of the main Tour for many years. He brings in the conundrum of current form, having finished runner-up in the Czech last week with a final round 66, but Besseling recorded 68/68 for the weekend (shrugging off the play-off defeat) and given the closeness of their respective recent form I would much rather go with the pma and course form of the younger man. For the Dutchman's 4th last year, Walker can only bring to the table a 9th (2001) and 22nd (2006) amongst a mass of poor efforts and I do not see where he finds the neccessary to finish in the top echelon this week.
