Brett Rumford to beat Anders Hansen - 6 points win @ 9-10 (Betway)

The Irish Open, potentially windy come the weekend, bunkering to grab hold of any approach shots that don't hold the green? All qualifications for punters to instantly put Australian Brett Rumford in their list of potential winners.

After a lean spell, Rumford has hit 2013 running and his form this season thus far sees him sit in 6th postion on the Race to Dubai. Back-to-back winner in Asia, Rumford's form has dipped slightly but his closing 68 in the BMW last week - his first event for a month- will set him up nicely for a tilt at an event he loves. Winner of this event in 2004, Rumford's win at St.Omer in 2007 is further evidence of his play in windy, tricky conditions and judges on his positive attitude this week, he will hard to shify from a decent finish. Whatever his fate, he is expected to outplay his Danish opponent without much trouble.

Hansen hasn't won for 4 seasons and for a man with his experience, three victories seems scant reward for his efforts. Lately, Hansen has reverted to plodding along and nabbing the odd top-10 without setting the game alight. That doesn't look good enough here this week and he whilst his form shows top-20 finishes in Ireland, they do not match the overall profile of Rumford either in the event or on current form.
