Betting without Oosthuizen, Jaidee and Jamieson Shane Lowry - 2 points each-way @ 10-1 (Skybet) Padraig Harrington - 1 point each-way @ 18-1 (Skybet) Whilst the three leaders look to have the event between them, they all look to have possible frailities. Oosty, deservedly hot favourite and the class at the top, finds it increasingly difficult to win but may have been inspired by good friend Charl Schwartzel's outstanding play at the end of 2012. Even so, at odds-on with two rounds to go he is no cert. Young Scott Jamieson deservedly took the shortened Alfred Dunhill at the end of the year but that was well deserved after showing up well throughout the season. He has clearly now got the bug and has been quoted as looking forward to the forecast wet weather. He looks the biggest danger as I just can't see Jaidee having quite the quality to beat both these exciting golfers. While that is going on, a market has been formed without the top three and confirmed wet weather players Lowry and Pod look ripe for a rise up the board over the weeekend. Three time Major winner Harrington needs little introduction but such was the positivity from his pre-season interview, he had to be put in the notebook. Sure, we've heard it before but he continues to look like a man that has that extra shot in him, played well enough apart from the double-bogey and just two shots off the 'lead' in this market shouldn't be as big as 20-1 in a place. I've taken the 18-1 purely on the extra place and expect his scrambling ability to come into play. Main bet is fellow Irishman Shane Lowry. Again, conditions are not a problem for a man that won the Irish Open as an amateur in the wind and rain, and then eased his frustrations to win in Portugal, again in the wind, with an excellent display of iron play. He looked like he needed the first couple of rounds here, and better off the tee than he has shown thus far, can be expected to be well inside the top-10 come the jamstick.
