Summary: 3 Bets, 3 Losses. Total Loss 11.7 Pts.
Bet 1 - 18H MB at Sporting Index. Sell Adam Scott over Kevin Stadler at 8. Stake 0.2 Pts. M/U 13, Loss 1 Pt Scott has been accused in the past of not giving his all to events back home and treating the time like a surfing holiday away from the pressures of life on the PGA tour. Whether this is true or not is open to question but certainly his results are not particularly good back home. In 11 events in the last 3 years, Scott has averaged 27th place which is poor for a player as highly regarded as he is playing on what is, after you go past the top 15-20 players, a fairly inferior set of tournaments. Stadler is fairly new to Australasian golf having only played 3 times but those include a win and a 10th place in three events played in 2006. It isn't the best idea to study head to head's on 4 different tours but in 6 events played together this year, Stadler leads 3-2-1 in R1 scoring and is tied 3-3 in all events with one of the wins coming in the solitary Australasian tour event they have both played in.
Bet 2 - 18H MB at Sporting Index. Sell Geoff Ogilvy over Bob Estes at 4. Stake 0.2 Pts. M/U 25, Loss 4.2 Pts Ogilvy, not unlike Scott, has poor form at home although he hasn't bothered to venture home as much as Scott in the last 3 years. In only 5 starts his finishes read: 11, cut, 30, 11, 30. Estes, meanwhile, has ventured across twice in the same time span even although he doesn't have his nationality as a reason to do so. In those two starts he finished 15th in the Open and 3rd in the PGA which is quite impressive for someone not used to conditions very different from his weekly staple of PGA courses. What also has to be accounted for is Ogilvy's stats since winning the US Open. This win coincided with an addition to his family and appearances have suffered as a consequence. In only 5 starts in 5 months Ogilvy has finished 16, 60, 9, 36 and 19, the 19 being at the Tour championship in a field of only 27 and his only appearance in the last 12 weeks.
Bet 3 - 18H MB at Sporting Index. Buy John Senden over Richard Green at 1.5. Stake 0.2 Pts. M/U 31, Loss 6.5 Pts Green is offered here as a "your choice" bet with John Senden, which is contestable on known form. In 12 starts over the last two years back home, Green has an average FP of 24 compared to Senden's 10 in 6 starts. 3 Year head to head's sees Senden winning 15 of the 22 rounds they have played together and 4 of the 6 events. With Senden's superior form here he should be a clear favourite.
