FINAL RESULT: 1-1; -0.74pts

Haas/Irwin LOST by 11
Hatalsky/Zoeller WON by 12

A resounding win and a resounding defeat, but overall a loss.

Matchup plays (2pts)

Jay Haas to beat Hale Irwin -137 @ Centrebet
Hard to argue with Irwin's course form at the TPC of Tampa Bay, but what he has proved over the past year or so is that he is nowhere near as consistent as he once was. He had played poorly in the first two events of the year and trailed Haas home by twelve and ten shots respectively, but he rediscovered some form last week before throwing away the tournament at the last hole. Haas didn't play last week and so has still beat Irwin in each of their last four common events which ties in with last October when Haas realised that he should concentrate fully on this Tour and he has been a model of consistency ever since - two wins and no worse than 7th in six starts. That level of consistency should beat Irwin most weeks despite the course advantage.

Morris Hatalsky to beat Fuzzy Zoeller -128 @ Pinnacle
Zoeller may have finished 6th last week and six shots ahead of Hatalsky, but it must be remembered that this is the only time in the last 12 months that he has finished ahead of Hatalsky (20 events). That's not a very good rate of victory and considering that Hatalsky was very unfortunate not to win this event last year, there really should a great deal of value on Hatalsky win at these odds.
