FINAL RESULT: 0-2; -4.44pts

Watson/Irwin TIED (Loss)
Morgan/McNulty LOST by 5

Watson and Morgan were leading by four and five shots respectively heading into the weekend, but that seems a very long time ago. Watson did manage a tie with Irwin, but that is still graded a loss at BetFred, which rather sums up this event.

Matchup plays (2pts):

Tom Watson to beat Hale Irwin -138 @ BetFred
Both have good histories on this course with Irwin winning in 2002 and Watson finishing 2nd in 2002, 2003 and 2004, the last time via a playoff loss, which was also the case in the 2000 event. But in terms of current form, there should only be one winner. Watson defeated Irwin by 10 shots in the MasterCard Championship and by 12 shots in the Turtle Bay Championship despite Irwin's huge course form advantage. Without that this week, this should be another win for the ultra-consistent Watson.

Gil Morgan to beat Mark McNulty -110 @ BetFred
McNulty is another whose early season form has been very poor. Morgan's margin of victory over him has been ten shots in both events so far and this is nothing more than a continuation of last season's difference in their form. Morgan has now beaten McNulty in six of their last eight common events and with Morgan finishing 14 places higher than McNulty in this event last year, Morgan should again prevail.

May have more plays once Five Dimes release lines.
