Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf

Outright plays (1 unit unless stated):

Hale Irwin to win 6/1 @ Surrey
The change in format has brought a much better field on view this week and more deserving of the title. Irwin is a new face at The King & Bear and should pick up where he finished at the Siebel Classic where he shot a brilliant 67 in the very cold and windy final round at the Siebel Classic. That lifted him to 5th place, his worst finish since Hawaii. Any semblance of that form this week and he should win at a canter.

Gil Morgan to win 16/1 e.w. @ Bet365, Surrey or NetBetSports
Was going to drop him after his disappointing performance as a selection last week, though he was making better progress in the cancelled final round. Basically, he is re-selected because of his record in this event, albeit paired with Hubert Green. He has played in this event for the last five years and finished 2nd, 10th, 1st, 3rd and 4th. Good course knowledge should see a better performance from the optometrist.

Doug Tewell to win 25/1 e.w. @ Bet365  (33/1 Centrebet, four places)
Robbed of a victory chance last week, he will surely contend this week. He finished 3rd last year so can boast local knowledge and is a far better player than the odds imply. Let's hope he makes amends for last week's injustice.

Final update:

Outrights: 1-2; +13.63 units

Irwin 6th
Morgan 13th
Tewell 1st

Irwin threatened early on, Morgan never did, but Tewell made up for last week's frustration by holding off Bobby Wadkins for a one-shot win. With Pettersson winning in Portugal, it looks like a poor decision to drop the usual stakes on these Tours to just one unit because there was no course form
