As it happens, the fast-improving 23-year-old sits in the top-10 just a handful of shots off a leaderboard that doesn't scream it's invincibility. Accuracy has always been as asset in Morocco and with Rai constantly in the top-10 for driving his time was always going to be if when excellent short game and putting were to match, as they did when impressing everyone on his maiden win on the Challenge Tour in Kenya last year. The Wolverhampton player continues to churn out results on the better and/or trickier tracks with a top-10 in India and 12th in Spain last time adding to previous results in France, at Valderrama, Turkey, a significant top-20 in Qatar (led after r1) et al. All these courses require a higher grade of play and with him already ranking top-20 off the tee and 3rd in GIR the extreme hours he has put in on the greens this week will pay off soon. The weekend will be about making less bogeys as well as improving the score when they can and it certainly will not be a birdie-fest. This will suit and if they start to drop, watch out! If he doesn't win this week, it won't be long.
