David Lipsky to beat Kiradech Aphibarnrat - 6 points @ 10-11 (Stan James)

Likeable as he is, Alphie has issues with his health and is very opposable at the moment despite a recent 2nd that sandwiches three missed-cuts and a withdrawal. He has never quite seemed the same since losing his coach last year and it would be a surprise if he can turn that form around and match his 2011 finish here of 7th.

Confidently oppose him with the improving 26-year-old who comes here after his best season on a main Tour and who must still be buzzing from his victory from a strong field in Cannes. A top US college player, Lipsky won in his rookie season on the Asian Tour before trumping that with a runner-up to Felipe Aguilar at Laguna. That has clearly brought him on with top-20s in Denmark and the Czech Republic preceding that brilliant win. A m/c at the KLM a week later is easily forgiven, whilst top-5 in Malaysia two outings ago show him to be still in good form. Trump all that with a 12th around here last season and you have few doubts about the youngster, as opposed to huge (no pun) issues regarding Alfie.
