Spread Betting News (Sporting Index)

Spread plays

With this tour being covered on Setanta this year, Sporting Index have put up some 18H prices and may extend their coverage into other markets as the year goes on. At the moment, none of the other firms have priced anything up but hopefully will in time. As it's the first event of the season it would be risky to get too heavily involved as unlike the "junior" tours you can never be sure how much preparation each player has put in and of course what effect being a year older will have on their ability. Therefore we will start with one bet on a player who has a lot of positives for the recommendation against a player who may just be past his best on this tour.

Bet 1 - Buy L Roberts over T Kite 18H MB at 6 with Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts M/U 16, Profit 3 Pts
Roberts is the defending champion and over the full 06' season, he played in 19 events with Kite, winning 14 of them outright and similarly, 14 of the R1 matches for an average M/U of over 11. In those 19 events he only failed to post a top 10 finish in two of them and has an overall 84% top 10 strike rate whereas Kite had 8 Top 10's in those 19 starts but also failed to get in the Top 20 a further 8 times. Last year, here, Roberts beat Kite by 17 strokes and showed he suited the surroundings, whilst Kite has got progressively worse here as he has got older, finishing 12, 1, 11, 22, 19, 26 in the last 6 years.
