Grand Champions Championship

FINAL UPDATE: 1-0; +1.40pts

Summerhays 2nd

Summerhays beat Irwin, but not McCullough who won by two shots. Had looked promising with Summerhays in joint-1st place after the first round, but still a profitable event.

Outright play (total stake: 2pts)

Bruce Summerhays to win 12/1 e.w. @ Paddy Power
Just one bet in this event with just three places and a player that should dominate it. Hale Irwin was expected to be at odds of 1/2 and lower, but there is the danger of complacency when a player is so far ahead of the rest of the field and this is only a 36-hole event. Just looking at 36-hole scores, Summerhays has finished ahead of Irwin in three of their last five common events! Take out Hale Irwin and he is the highest-ranked Super Senior (aged 60 and over) in the Money List and the Scoring Average categories this year. Having shown that he can beat Irwin over 36 holes, he should have a good chance of winning this week and finishing top of the Grand Champions Money List.
