Matchup Picks - Champions Tour

Tipster: Stanley

Odds: Matchups

3M Championship

Matchup plays (2pts):

Don Pooley to beat Bob Gilder -114 @ Expekt
Gilder did finish three shots ahead of Pooley last week, but given that Pooley has finished ahead of Gilder in each of their last five and eleven of their last fourteen common events, the advantage is clearly with Pooley. It also helps that Pooley has finished eight and four shots ahead of Gilder in the last two years here.

Craig Stadler to beat Hale Irwin -110 @ BetFred
Stadler has been getting back to his old self since returning from injury just over a month ago. He has finished behind Irwin a few times since having to withdraw from the Senior PGA Championship in May, but with finishes in the last two weeks of 4th in the Senior British Open when he held the lead for a lot of the tournament and 7th in the U.S. Senior Open when he similarly held the lead for long periods of time, he is clearly close to his best and the ageing Irwin cannot compete with that. Irwin has finished 40th and 22nd in the last two years here; Stadler finished 2nd on his debut last year.
