Matchup Picks - Champions Tour

Tipster: Stanley

Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf (2pts unless stated):

Doug Tewell to beat Vicente Fernandez -111 @ Stan James
Siding with a player who is coming into form with top-20 finishes in each of his last three starts and finished 6th last year. He should have the edge over the ageing Fernandez who has had only two top-10 finishes in the last six months.

Tom Kite to beat Bruce Lietzke +100 @ Stan James [4pts]
Kite is far from his best form, but these are very strange odds from Stan James. Lietzke has only played three times this year because of a cold shoulder suffered a few months ago - on each occasion he has finished behind Kite by a total of 22 shots. Lietzke's shoulder is still not fully recovered and he is currently losing about one club in distance as a result of his lack of power. Around this 7,000 yard course, he will struggle even though he won this title last year when fully healthy.

Gil Morgan to beat Mark McNulty -118 @ Centrebet
McNulty won his opening Champions Tour event in February, but has since failed to finish in the top-10 and has not finished ahead of Morgan apart from that first week (Morgan finished 7th). It should take a very large reversal of form if McNulty is to prevail in this matchup.

Final update: 1-2-0; -4.22pts

Tewell/Fernandez TIED (Lost)
Kite/Lietzke LOST by 7
Morgan/McNulty WON by 7

Very poor performance from Kite to finish 43rd of 54 players. It did look too good to be true!
