Matchup Picks - Champions Tour

Tipster: Stanley

Kinko's Classic (2pts):

Morris Hatalsky to beat Bob Gilder -127 @ Five Dimes
Big difference in form between these two. Gilder hasn't posted a top-10 finish all season, while Hatalsky has had four, including a 5th place finish last week. Gilder did finish 3rd last year, but he was at the end of a very rich vein of form and Hatalsky was not, yet he only finishes three shots ahead of Hatalsky. Can't see him doing it again for a while.

Wayne Levi to beat Lonnie Nielsen -127 @ Five Dimes
Nielsen has shown good form recently, but still trails Levi 4-2-0 h2h this season and without any course experience, he should struggle to beat Levi this week.

Jim Thorpe to beat Sam Torrance -120 @ Five Dimes
Lack of course experience works against Torrance this week. Thorpe finished 4th last year and is slowly getting back into form after an injury layoff. He had started the season in great form with top-10 finishes in three of his four starts before the layoff, while in contrast Torrance has only managed one in seven starts this season.

Final update: 1-1-1; -0.40pts

Hatalsky/Gilder TIED (push)
Levi/Nielsen WON by 7
Thorpe/Torrance LOST by 8

Gilder shot a final round 65 to erase a 7-shot gap and deny the overall profit on the matchups, but no reason to complain. This has been a very profitable event.
