Matchup Picks - Champions Tour

Tipster: Stanley

Farmers Charity Classic (2pts):

Keith Fergus to beat Des Smyth -122 @ Five Dimes
Both players are making their debut on this course, so siding with the player in better form. Smyth has finished 40th and 57th in his last two Champions Tour events, positions which Fergus has finished higher than in all of his six Champions Tour starts to date.

Tom Jenkins to beat Jim Thorpe -115 @ Centrebet
Thorpe has excellent form on this course until last year, but has really struggled (bar one week) since returning from injury in April. Jenkins has finished ahead of Thorpe in six of their last seven common events and the outright selection should continue in the same vein this week.

Wayne Levi to beat Dana Quigley -111 @ Stan James
Both these players are evenly matched this season and in good form, but Levi has by far the better recent course form. While he has been finishing 4th and 23rd in the last two years, Quigley has been 50th and 64th. Enough of a difference for me to side with Levi.

Final update: 1-1-0; -0.22pts

Fergus/Smyth WON by 3
Jenkins/Thorpe VOID (Jenkins dns)
Levi/Quigley LOST by 4

Small loss on the matchups and thankful for that! Jenkins did not start so the match was void, but his opponent, Jim Thorpe, won the event!
