final round, but he failed to birdie the par-five last hole and it was
costly. He finished outside the payout places by a single shot.

Form may have dipped a little after such a peak in performance from July
to early September, but still playing better than most of this field.
Not too many players with a lot of experience around Hayfields, but Kite
can lay claim to a top-5 finish in 2001 so this could be the week he
returns to the winner's circle.

No easing of form from Weibring. He extended his run of top-10 finishes
to four at the SAS Championship last week and is firmly established as
one of the leading players on the Tour - he ranks 1st in top-10 finishes
on the Tour. No course experience, but looks set to be in contention and
in the top-10 yet again.

Big price for a player who earned his second runners-up finish of the
season last week - he has won a title on Tour this season as well. He
will always play well on courses where greens in regulation is an
important stat and he does have three year's experience of playing in
this event at Hayfields. Not as consistent as the other selections, but
a price that more than compensates.
