Stake 3pts Merrick to beat Romero -110 @ William Hill Win
From looking at the history of this event there is little indication that current form or previous course form is an asset. So it may pay to look towards class, consistency and of course value instead. Romero did win this event last year and was 5th last time out but he lacks consistency and his overall game can be pretty wayward at times. Merrick is a lot more consistent, has a decent all-round game and leads Romero 10-3 in h2h's over the last 12 months.

Stake 3pts Dufner to beat Hart +100 @ FiveDimes Win
Dufner has played pretty decent stuff this season and has only missed one cut in his last nine starts. Hart has missed four cuts from his nine starts this season and although finished 12th here last year he also missed the cut back in 2007. Dufner leads 4-1 in h2h's this season and I make him favourite here.

Stake 3pts Verplank to beat Holmes +100 @ BlueSq Win
Verplank is back to showing his amazing consistency of old and his ball striking has been very impressive of late. Holmes had only one decent performance this season prior to his 2nd place finish at the Houston. But looking back at his past performances his performances subsequent to a top-ten finish have been really rather poor. He also trails Verplank 9-5 in h2h's over the past 12 months.
