M/U 25, Loss 5.25 Pts H2H's show an 8-5 tournament and 7-5-1 R1 lead for the Englishman and this shows he should be favourite but not by as much as the 4-7 quoted by Spreadex. General scoring records and average finishing positions show an even closer set of results. Sell Sergio Garcia over Carl Petterson 18H R1 MB at 5 with Sporting Index for 0.25 Pts M/U 16, Loss 2.75 Pts A similar set of results here with 7-5 the Garcia lead but actually a 6-6 tie on R1 scoring. You could argue Garcia is on top form after impressive results recently but Pettersson won last week and rather than the normal mental let down that can bring, he actually now has a serious chance of making the Ryder Cup so needs to keep the form going. Sell Andres Romero over Ben Curtis 18H R1 MB at 0 with Sporting Index for 0.25 Pts M/U -13, Profit 3.25 Pts An excellent 7th place at the PGA for Romero but Curtis finished 5 strokes better in 2nd place and, along with Harrington, two top 10 majors in a row (although Harrington done slightly better !!!). H2H's shows long term form in Curtis's favour at 7-3 and the course setup this week should also favour the home player. Sell Steve Flesch over Jonathan Byrd 18H R1 MB at 2 with Sporting Index for 0.25 Pts M/U 0, Profit 0.5 Pts 12-6 lead for Byrd over a year suggests that too much is being taken of Flesch's Top 10 at the PGA and Byrd's recent run of cut misses. Byrd has a long term FP a full 5 points better than Flesch and it is arguable that these two should be priced at "choice". 2-2-0 -4.25 Pts |
