Betfair Picks - PGA Tour

Tipster: Chris

Odds: Betfair

St. Jude Classic

Final Result:  -4.9pts, Browne was the only one who even came anywhere near.

Perry and Toms lead the betting but are both at such short odds that neither can be considered value. This week I see the best value as to be found far further down the order.

Back John Senden 0.75pts e/w @125/1 at Skybet and Totesport

Solid play from Senden all season, regularly making cuts, although not penetrating the top end of leaderboards. This is quite a weak field though when you look past the top 5 or 10 and so it's quite surprising to see Senden available at such large odds.

Back Doug Barron 0.75pts e/w @125/1 available generally

3rd last time out, his second top 5 of the season. a native of Tennesse and in the form of his life. It all bodes well for a good week.

Back Tom Gillis 0.25pts e/w @300/1 at Skybet

Back Tom Byrum 0.25pts e/w @250/1 at Skybet

Back Olin Browne 0.2pts e/w @300/1 at SportingOdds/SportingBet

Back Omar Uresti to finish in the top five 0.3pts @62.5/1 at Centerbet/Superodds

Back Glen Hnatiuk to finish in the top five 0.2pts @82.5/1 at Centerbet/Superodds

Difficult to find a whole lot of positive things to say about these players - if there were a lot of positives they wouldn't be at anything like these odds! Gillis was ranked number 1 in the field for GIR in finshing 17th in New Orleans. Byrum contended in Houston. Browne has 2 top 25s in his last 3 starts and was ranked 3rd for GIR in both. Uresti came 6th last time out and has a win to his name on the Canadian Tour already this season. Hnatiuk should have won here 3 years ago but blew up at the death.

None of which is the main reasons for backing these players. The main reason is that, in this field, they all have far better chances than these odds suggest.
