Michelin Championship at Las Vegas

0-7,-10pts.

I'm beginning to feel cursed...

Update after round 1:

Two different courses in use for Thursday and Friday this week and as ever some confusion over which, if any, is playing easier. The numbers seem to suggest that Canyons is playing slightly harder to par, but the difference is very small, so not a lot of mileage in looking at things from that angle.

Back Tom Pernice 0.5pts @120

Back Tom Pernice to finish in the top five 1pt @20/1 at Centrebet

Prices just look too big after his 6 under par opening round.

Back John Senden to finish in the top five 0.5pts @25/1 at Centrebet

Already backed him at the start but I feel it's worth topping up a bit at these odds after his good start.

Back Bob Estes to win 1pt @90

Back Bob Estes to finish in the top five 2pts @20/1 at Centrebet

Estes is a must bet for me this week. He won this event in 2001 and finished 11th last year, so the course/format cleary suits. He has been in very consistent form of late with 10 straight cuts made in a row. Most of that has been under the radar though as he hasn't really got his name to the front of the leaderboard at any time, but this long period of consistent, if not brilliant, form mirrors the period before his last win on tour: the 2002 Kemper Open at Avenel before which he had made 9 straight cuts, the last 7 of which didn't include any top 20 finishes.
