Tipster: Stanley

Chrysler Classic of Tucson

Outright plays (1.5pts):

Jeff Maggert to win 25/1 e.w. @ UKBetting
Difficult to ignore form figures of 2nd and 10th in his last events, particularly as he was much higher with just one round to go in last week's Nissan Open. True, Daly can better that, but he is a very unlikely favourite for this event and less than half of Maggert's odds. He can also count two top-10 finishes in his last five visits to the Omni Tucson National Resort and a runners-up finish in 1993, so against this field, he may yet stumble over the winning line.

Hidemichi Tanaka to win 33/1 e.w. @ Bet365
Tanaka has threatened to do more than just stumble over the winning line for the past couple of years. He had a run of four top-6 finishes in six events in August last year and having finished in the top-25 in each of the last two years here and also last week, this represents a very good chance for the Japanese player to feature on the leaderboard again.

Brendan Pappas to win 40/1 e.w. @ SkyBet, UKBetting and Totalbet
Pappas also came to the fore last year with a couple of top-5 finishes late in the season. Against this field, that is rather impressive and he has continued in similar form this year with top-15 finishes in the Sony Open and in the FBR Open which was also played in Arizona. Having finished 3rd last year, there is plenty of reason to expect that his class will shine through on this course again.

Final update: 0-3; -4.50pts

Maggert wd
Tanaka 20th
Pappas 43rd

Not even close to being in contention. Very poor picks!
