Southern Farm Bureau Classic

From Shaker:

Sell Jonathan Byrd/Loren Roberts 72H MB at -0.75 for 0.5 pts with
Sporting Index
Hard to do this after the run Byrd gave me on the outright bet last week (especially after I spoke about how his form seems to improve once we hit September) but that was a speculative bet at 159/1 and this is a completely different scenario. His figures just do not compare with Roberts', not when we are talking about consistency. Roberts does not seem to win any more but he does churn out the top-25s (7 from his last 10 events) whereas Byrd can win and challenge the leaders but he is far more erratic with his performances. There is nothing in it on course form (1 event each, both with a high finish) and if they both play to their best I could see Byrd just about edging this match, but the reason for this bet is the far greater chance that Byrd will have a below-average or poor week. After all, his win in July was followed by T62-MC-MC, and last year his finishes following his five top tens were T50-T31-T56-T16-MC.
Result: MU -2, Profit = 0.63 pts (Roberts played excellently but it's hard to make much when you're taking on a player who shoots just 3 bogeys in 72 holes)
