Spread Betting News (Sporting Index)

Spread plays

Bets 2, Wins 1, Losses 1. Loss 0.9 Pts

With coverage of this tour on Setanta this year, Sporting Index have issued prices for the first event of the year.

Bet 1 - Sell Henrik Bjornstad over Matt Weibring 18H MB at 5 with Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts M/U 0, Profit 1.5 Pts
Weibring's 2006 record consisted of 5 Top 20's which was fairly average but at least he contended whereas Bjornstad had a nightmare on the main tour finishing outside the Top 30 in 27 of 31 starts. It would be hard to argue that Bjornstad shouldn't be favourite here, he should, but the gap in quality between the players may not be as high as the 5pt start you get supporting Weibring and it should be taken.

Bet 2 - Sell Ricky Barnes over Danny Ellis 18H MB at 5 with Sporting Index for 0.3 Pts M/U 13, Loss 2.4 Pts
Barnes played on this tour last year obtaining 5 Top 10 finishes, whilst Ellis played on the main tour struggling, not unlike Bjornstad. However, back on the Nationwide tour where he had 5 Top 6 finishes in 2005 suggests the gap in quality between these players should not be as much as 5. In both cases the prices should be closer but for different reasons.
