Outright plays (4pts staked) Se Ri Pak 1pt ew @ 40-1 (general) Played the course twice finishing 6th and then 34th. But when she was 34th she was ranked 1st in GIR. Given that she rediscovered her putting boots last week to finish second I'll take 40-1. Louise Friberg 0.5pt ew @ 275-1 (Bet365; 250s widely available) 2008 maiden winner finally found the T10 again when nipping home to Sweden. Putted very well last week and last time she was putting this well was prior to her win in Mexico. Spent four years at university in nearby Seattle and is staying with old friends this week in Oregon. Clubs have arrived late but with other good factors and a juicy price I'll take the risk. Hee Young Park 0.5pt ew @ 100-1 (Ladbrokes, Skybet) A very fine player from tee to green, her first round last Thursday cost her another top 20 finish, but the week was notable for her improved putting. If she can maintain that and revert to hitting the greens in regulation she could justify the belief amongst the Koreans that she has the best swing of the lot of them. Final result: -4pts After 45 holes Friberg was in the top ten and Park in the places. Unfortunately it was a 54 hole event and those last nine holes weren't pretty. |
