Matchup Picks - LPGA Tour

Tipster: Stanley

Odds: Matchups

Women's World Cup of Golf

FINAL RESULT: 3-0-0; +9.00pts

Philippines/France WON by 13
Scotland/France WON by 12
New Zealand/Germany WON by 7

Three comfortable wins to ensure a decent profit on the event and a nice start to the LPGA Tour season.

Matchup plays (1.5pts unless stated):

Philippines to beat France -133 @ NordicBet
The team of Rosales and Delasin look very strong on paper, both closing the 2004 season in good form and with a good record on the road. They should be too much for the French team with Meunier-Lebouc, in particular, struggling to find the form that earned her a major title.

Scotland to beat France -110 @ SkyBet [4.5pts]
If I think that the French team will be mid-table at best, then this is an obvious play. The well-tested partnership of Moodie and Matthew look a much better complement to each other and are rather upbeat about their chances in their pre-event interviews. Adding a large play here to the outright play already made.

New Zealand to beat Germany -110 @ SkyBet and BetFred [3pts]
The key player in this matchup will be Lynette Brooky. She closed the 2004 in good form on the Ladies European Tour and finished 3rd in Singapore last week. Neither of the Germans have showed any form in recent months and last week Eberl finished 32nd, while Esterl shot 78-81 to miss the cut. Gina Scott had a couple of runners-up finishes last year, so she looks unlikely to let her partner down.
