Matchup Picks - Japan Ladies Tour

Tipster: Stanley

Odds: Matchups

Mizuno Classic

FINAL RESULT: 1-1; +1.35pts

Kim/Icher WON by 2
Hjorth/Icher LOST by 5

An impressive performance by Icher threatened these picks, which had been leading after the 1st round. Will certinaly take a profitable split when the opponent finished 6th!

Matchup plays (1.5pts unless stated)

Young Kim to beat Karine Icher -123 @ Expekt [3pts]
Icher certainly hit a purple patch of form in September/early October, but the bubble may have burst as she has a missed cut and a 43rd place finish (of 69) in her last two events. And even despite that form, she has finished ahead of Kim only twice in seven common events since June. With Icher making her debut in Japan and Kim finishing 7th last year, it is the wrong player favoured here.

Maria Hjorth to beat Karine Icher -110 @ BetFred
Similar story here with Icher finishing ahead of Hjorth only once in their last seven common events as Hjorth's form has closely mirrored that of Icher ... in fact, so much so that they have finished level with each other in each of the last two events and that is bad news with a bookie like BetFred. The real clincher here, though, is course form. Whereas Icher has yet to play Seta, Hjorth is a former winner of this title (1999) that also finished in the top-10 on her last visit.
