 Result:0-2 (-2 points); Webb 33rd, Hjorth 11th;

Web was very disappointing, while Hjorth was thereabouts but never quite pushed her way into the top few spots.

YTD (including matchups): +4 points

Outright plays (total stake per play 1 point)

Karrie Webb   11/2 e.w.   at Skybet (1/4 odds top 5)

Happy to take the short odds here on an each way basis. Webb has an unbelievable record at this course, finishing worse than second just once in her last 9 attempts (11th in 2004). It would be a surprise if she wasnt competitive in this field, and in her press interviews so far she claims to have been working hard with her coach, especially on her putting (important on this course with the large greens).

Maria Hjorth   22/1 e.w.   at Skybet  (1/4 odds top 5)

Hjorth warmed up for this tournament with a solid finish in a lesser event that took place on the Norman designed Pelican Waters course which lies a couple of hours north of the Royal Pines layout that is used for this event. While it wasnt an overly strong field, it was useful in gauging where Hjorth is in her preparation. Hjorth had a good season last year, winning in Europe and having several strong finishes in the on the LPGA circuit. With a third place finish here last year, this course should hold no fears for her.
