Madeira Island Open

Spread Betting News (Sporting Index)

Summary: Bets 2, Losses 2, Loss 6.6 Pts

Bet 1 - Sell Eduardo Molinari over Phillip Archer 72H MB at 0.5 with
Spreadex for 0.6 Pts. M/U 5, Loss 2.7 Pts
An 11-2 head to head lead over 12 months for Archer over the young Italian would suggest that this price may be the wrong way round. Archer has horrendous form here and that is a worry but it is from only two starts and the last one being 4 years ago. He has certainly put in a few good performances in the last year (six Top 20's since August) and is a better player now. Molinari is a player with huge potential but I would rather side with a tried and trusted performer against a player who, to date, has never finished better than 54th in 21 European starts.

Bet 2 - Sell Ivo Giner over Rafael Gomez 18H MB at 3 with
Sporting Index / Bet HiLo for 0.3 Pts M/U 16, Loss 3.9 Pts
A 5-4 H2H lead for Giner over the last 12 months means that 3 may be a tad high in this matchup. Possibly high as Giner lives in nearby Spain, but in the two events last year that they both played in Spain, Gomez, the Argentinian, won both.  2007 form shows two Top 10's and a missed cut in South America for Giner and finishes of 31, 14 and 12 in the same events for Gomez. 1-4 would be a fairer reflection of their ability difference.
