Algarve Open de Portugal

Spread Betting News (Sporting Index)

Summary, 2 losses, 9.36pt Loss. Not a good week on this tour after moderate success recently. FP's are still hard to judge and probably will be until we get a regular run of events on the mainland rather than jetting back to the far east which they are about to do after the Masters.

Round One Trades

Buy Bradley Dredge over Charl Schwartzel 18H MB at 1.8 with
Cantor Spreadfair for 0.2 Pts. M/U -28, Loss 5.96 Pts
It’s our weekly opposition of Schwartzel, where his price doesn’t reflect his stats. On the European mainland in 05’ Charl posted two Top 25’s in 13 mainland events, admittedly one in Portugal, but on a different course. Compare that to Dredge who posted 13 Top 25’s in 20 events played, which is far greater display in this part of the world. This price should be around 2-5, so to buy at 1.8 is worth playing.

Sell Jose Manuel Lara over Soren Kjeldsen 18H MB at 2 with IG Sport for 0.2 Pts M/U 19, Loss 3.4 Pts

Everything here points to a Lara win. Course form of 9th in 2004 compares favourably with Kjeldsen’s Cut, Cut, 43, Cut in his last four events here and current form also points to the Spaniard. Finishes of 9th and 29th in his two latest events against two 37th placings for the Scandinavian also shows preference for Lara. However, Kjeldsen is a better player than Lara and maybe shouldn’t have as big a start as that offered by IG.
