Betfair Picks - European Tour

Tipster: Shaker

Turespana Mallorca Classic @ Betfair

Summary:
Brier gave us a great run but ultimately came up short. Similar to last week with JL Lewis, his price came right down to one of our offered lays (@ 11) but only for an odd few pounds and not enough to record our 3 pts as being laid. Even more annoyingly, there was hundreds and hundreds laid at under 15, but the significant amounts only went down to 11.5!!!
1.5 pts staked, 1.5 pts laid.

Selection 1 Back:

Markus Brier 1.5 pts @ 100
(or 80/1 with Paddy Power)
Not a name you'd usually be concerning yourself with, but I think there are valid reasons for thinking that anything above the general top bookies price of 66/1 is a bit of value. A poor effort last week aside (anyone can be forgiven a MC in a pro-am covering 3 different links courses) and he has some striking current form; from August thru September he had a run of 15-18-2-16-17 in European Tour events AND he also secured a Challenge Tour win in his native Austria. His record in Spain is worth noting too, with 6 top-25s in 9 appearances since '00, and although I wouldn't be supporting him in a strong European Tour event this is far from that and I am thinking he is perfectly capable of improving on his 22nd here last year.
Selection 1 Lay:
1.5 pts @ 21
(to lose 30 pts) **MATCHED**
3 pts @ 11 (30 pts)
6 pts @ 5 (24 pts)
6 pts @ 2.64 (9.84 pts) Profit if successful = 54.66 pts

The lays are at set prices, based on the original back price, and are left up for the duration of the tournament. Please note: they are to be put up as soon as possible after the market is placed in-running.
