He has made an encouraging start to the season with finishes of 9th and then 3rd last week. His record here is equally
impressive with finishes of 11th in 2005 and 3rd in 2006, but could have been even more impressive. In 2005 he was
2 shots back when he closed with a disappointing 75 and last season he opened with a disappointing 74 only to match
eventual winner Torrance over the final two rounds. Those closing two rounds was three better than any other player in
the field could manage.

It will be a big shock if he manages victory here but Rodriguez has current form and course form which belies these big
odds. Last week he managed a rather average finish of 30th but in his opening event he opened with an 80 and then
proceded to hit two sub-par rounds for an encouraging 19th place finish. And in his previous starts here he finished 7th
in 2005 and 33rd in 2006 after opening with a round of 79. A par opening round would have seen another top ten finish
for him in this event.
