FINAL RESULT

Mason                8th
Brand                 9th

Oakley                T17th

Bets: 3     Wins: 0     Losses: 3     Profit/Loss = -6.00 pts

Carl Mason                     1.5 pts e.w. @ 18/1 Skybet

Mason won this tournament last season at 6/1 so it would be churlish to turn down 18's despite the better quality field. Last season he struggled with injury for most of the season, but with finishes of 11-06-05 this season he is looking back to his best. And a Carl Mason at his best at 18's is a very tempting prospect.

Gordon J Brand              1.0 pts e.w. @ 25/1 Skybet
This is Brand's first full season on the tour, yet already has finished in the top-10 on six occasions from only 12 starts. He should have added to that tally last week but opened with a horrible 81. His last 2 rounds were only bettered by winner Encina. Porgressing nicely and a little under-estimated given the potential he has shown so far on this tour.

Pete Oakley                     0.5 pts e.w. @ 80/1 Skybet
Oakley has been rather cursed by the label "biggest upset in the history of The Senior British Open". He has played on this tour 18 times in the last two and a half years. He has missed the cut once (in last years gales at The Open) and from the other 17 starts he has an average finishing position of only 15.6. His worst finish was actually last week where he finished 28th but this was largely down to a disappointing run of bogeys on the back nine on the first day. For what he has acheived to date on this tour 80/1 appears on the large side.
