Seniors Tour Championship

FINAL RESULT

Mason     T35th (including an 8 at a par 3!!)

Good       T9th

Bets: 2     Wins: 0     Losses: 2     Profit/Loss = -2 pts

Carl Mason            1.5pts win @ 9/1 Skybet                                               (Total Stake: 1.5pts)

Mason currently leads Torrance by £168 going into this final tournament of the season. Despite struggling with an injury for most of this year he has managed to win twice and have ten top-10 finishes out of 16 starts. That form clearly outshines any other player on the tour but the odds of 9/1 take into account the injury fears that may exist. The odds are a fair price if Mason is still struggling but he has now had a rest of over a month and if fit he could make these odds look very good value.

David Good            0.25pts e.w. @ 100/1 Skybet / Paddy Power          (Total Stake: 0.5pts)

Admittedly Good has had a poor season by his standards but there is evidence that suggest these odds to be very good value. The Aussie has consistently shown his best form when in warmer conditions and his best finish this year was a 10th place in the Barbados Open so the temperate conditions in Bahrain should suit him. Also his form improves dramatically at this time of the year. His average finishing position by month reads July: 24.9, August: 16.3, September: 15.5 and October onwards: 11.7. In fact, in all tournaments on the tour held in October onwards he has managed 8 top-10 finishes out of 17 starts. Not bad stats for a 100/1 shot.
