Outright Picks - European Senior Tour

Jolie Ville Sharm El Sheikh Seniors Open

FINAL RESULT: 0-1; -1.00pts

Watine 11th

Top-15 all week, but never really challenging for a top-4 payout place. In fact, the only good feature of this event was that there was only one tip. None of the top-8 players had been anywhere near my shortlist!

Outright play (total stake: 1pt)

Gery Watine to win 25/1 e.w. @ SkyBet
New event, new course and over five weeks since the last Tour event, this is clearly an event to wary about. And with the prices available, only one player is noteworthy. There has been a marked improvement in Watine's form since he completed his first 12 months in Tour last August. Since then he has been the 3rd round leader in the prestigious PGA Seniors Championship, finishing 4th in his only 72-hole start on this Tour, finished 3rd and 9th in his last two starts of 2004 and 10th and 4th in his two starts in 2005. Clearly an improvement in form and in some of the Tour's bigger events. He has held the lead heading into the final round in two of his last eight strokeplay events, there seems little reason why he should similarly contend this week.
