Luis Carbonetti                     0.5pt e.w. @ 20/1 Skybet                (Total Stake: 1pt)

Luis was one of our selections a couple of weeks ago in the Seniors Open and put in a decent performance considering his relatively poor form in windy conditions. His form over the first three days was encouraging considering the ridiculous conditions and when the wind died down on the final day Luis showed what he is capable of and hit a 67. He put in a respectable performance to finish 18th last year and is still in great from. The windy conditions are likely to be gone by the weekend and 14/1 seems a fairer assessment of his chances.

Horacio Carbonetti              0.5pt e.w. @ 33/1 Skybet                (Total Stake: 1pt)

Haracio Carbonetti has been a model of consistency all year long and this was extended to his last appearance at the Seniors Open. He play over all four days was highly impressive and was certainly one of note. But it is his course form that inspires confidence here. He finished in an encouraging 14th in last year’s event but then he had the added pressure of having won the week before, which only Mason seems capable of doing. In 2003 he had a great chance of winning this event but hit a shocking 74 in the 3rd round, a score which was bettered by all but 2 of the players who finished in the top 50. Any sort of decent score would have seen him in contention. I had him marked up at 22/1 so again there’s some value to be had here.
