New Zealand Open

Post Round 1 Trade

Sell P O'Malley over N O'Hern at 11 with Sporting Index on a 72H Match Bet for 1 pt. M/U 20.
O'Malley is in the lead and 6 ahead of O'Hern. However, this is priced on the assumption that O'Hern is more likely to miss the cut than make it. He is currently though on the cut line and must be odds on given his quality to make the weekend. If he does, we should have a value bet unless O'Malley stretches away. It seems well worth the risk at the price as the true figure should be around 8.5 to 9.5.

>>> A value bet that went astray as O'Hern failed to get over the cut line and with O'Malley having a good 68 made the end M/U stretch away from the initial price. It certainly was worth the attempt as had O'Hern got into R3 we could have had a completely different result especially after O'Malley shooting high on Saturday.

Post Round 3 Trade

Buy Euan Walters over Richard Best at 6 on a 18H Match Bet with Sporting Index for 0.5 pts. M/U -19

Richard Best normally plays on the Asian PGA Tour and even there he has a very poor record missing four of the last five cuts. However, he is playing way above himself on this event, shooting 64 in R3 to take him well inside the top 10. Even allowing the upsurge in form, he should still be much more of an outsider against Walters who is on course for his 4th Top 20 in a row on the Australasian tour.

>>>Best shot 72 in R4 but we were beaten by a poor final round 75 from Walters who hadn't been out of the 60s in his first three rounds.
