New Zealand Open

Matchup plays (1.5 units unless stated):

Mathew Goggin to beat Steve Collins -118 @ Expekt
Goggin struggled on the PGA Tour last year after retaining his card and it presumably hit his confidence once he returned to the Australian events at the end of last, but there is still a gulf in class between these two players. Collins played in nine Australasian Tour events last year and had a best finish of only 20th.

Wade Ormsby to beat Craig Jones -118 @ Expekt
No problem opposing Jones with an outright selection. Jones had a torrid season last year, missing the cut in 13 of 23 starts and making just one top-10 finish in any event. That might have been the Australian Open, but it was very much the exception and is in stark contrast to Ormsby's form.

Terry Price to beat Dave Stockton, Jr. +100 @ Five Dimes [3 units]
This line just doesn't make sense to me. Price is a seasoned Australasian Tour player, a winner of the New South Wales Open only 14 months ago and tried his luck on the European Tour again last season. His did lose form in the second half of the year, but finished in the top-30 more times than not in the first five months of 2003. Compare that to Stockton, Jr. who played 31 events in 2003 and made only eight cuts and it is clear which player is struggling. Those events may have been on the PGA Tour, but when he did play on the two co-sanctioned Nationwide/Australasian Tour events in 2002, he missed the cut both times.

Final update: 2-1; +2.73 units

Goggin/Collins LOST by 3
Ormsby/Jones WON by 9
Price/Stockton WON by 13

Not enough profit to cancel the blank on the outright, but two very decisive wins anyway. Never though that Price would win the event, but still a valuable three points won on the veteran.
