Australian Open

Summary:

Finishing Positions (0.5pt stakes)

Sell Craig Parry at 24, MU 19.5
Sell Stephen Leaney at 25 MU 13.5
Sell Rod Pampling at 25 MU 3.5
Sell Terry Price at 34.5 MU 31.5 all at
Spreadex

Only Spreadex have prices for this event. However they seem to have under-estimated the chances of a number of the more well known entrants, especially with a field of only 126 which contains players who are nowhere near the class of some of these guys.

Parry - Popeye has failed to beat 24th only once in his last 12 strokeplay events on this tour. He is fresh off of a 12th place prep run in Japan last week and is a strong fancy to win outright.

Leaney - Stephen has 5 Top 10's in 9 strokeplay events in the same period of time as Parry. 2nd in this event last year, albeit on a different course, Leaney has had a fair year on the US Tour where he has a 66% strike rate in making the weekend in events far tougher than this.

Pampling - A winner this year in America, Pampling comes back home where his record is 3 top 20's in 6 events since 02'. Rod doesnt seem to come back as often as these other players but at 25 he is a little high considering his success this season.

Price - Terry has played more at home than the above three players combined in the last 3 years and has two wins. Apart from that he has covered this quote more than 50% of the events he has played. The most important reason for his choice though is an upturn in form this year-end with a 3rd in Madrid and 19th in the Volvo Masters in October.
